Plans from Hampton Hotels to launch a new establishment in Sheffield look set to boost hospitality recruitment in the city, with some 55 full and part-time jobs expected to be created through the move.
The Hampton by Hilton hotel follows the signing of an agreement between Hilton Worldwide and Sanguine Hospitality.
An investment of over £9 million will be required to carry out the planned renovation, with the site based in the former West Bar Police Station building.
Simon Matthews-Williams, chairman of hotel management and development company Sanguine Hospitality, described the project as perfect for “value-conscious business and leisure travellers”.
“We are delighted to be able to restore the building … and to ensure it continues to tower over the city’s skyline as a quality hotel,” added Mr Matthews-Williams.
Hampton Hotels operates establishments across the globe, working with Hilton in the UK as well as in India, Poland, Germany and other countries.
