A number of restaurant and hotel jobsĀ could be generated in the North-West as plans for the redevelopment of Manchester airport are unveiled.
The project will include a zone comprising hotel space, bars and restaurants as well as retail and office developments, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Another zone will focus on logistics and manufacturing. Around 21,000 jobs will be created in total by the Manchester Airport Group (MAG) scheme, which is expected to be partially completed in the next fifteen months.
MAG chief executive Charlie Cornish said the project, called Airport City, has been under development for a number of years before reaching this point.
When the 150-acre Airport City is complete, it will offer up to 100,000 sq ft of retail and leisure units and around 2,400 new hotel beds.
Manchester Airport Group currently serves over 24 million people annually through four different sites in England.
