Lunch Review – The Fleece – Tuesday 13 December 2011

Having wrapped our Christmas corporate gifts earlier in the morning, Sarah and I decided to have lunch at the newly re-opened Fleece in Addingham.

The Fleece is a lovely Yorkshire stone building dating from the late 1700s located in the pretty village of Addingham, close to Ilkley.  The Fleece has been sympathetically converted into a great food led gastro pub by the current owners who have only been open since 2 December. read more

Restaurant Review: Cecconi’s, Mayfair London

13th November 2011

Love, love, love this place and well worth a visit if you are in and around Mayfair London! The staff were effortlessly charming and professional.  The food was good too; not flashy or risky. Cecconi’s must be one of the loveliest spots to while away an hour in all of Mayfair.

For our breakfast we had seasonal fruit and organic yoghurt with walnut and banana bread which was utterly divine all washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee.

Rating:
  • Food: 5/5
  • Ambience: 5/5
  • Service: 5/5

Price based on 2 for breakfast – £37

Dinner Review – The relaunched Storm Steakhouse, Harrogate – Saturday 5 November 2011

7th November 2011

This is warning to all meat lovers; be prepared for the menu of your life!

Storm Steakhouse is housed in one of Harrogate’s luxury hotels, Grants, an award winning privately owned boutique style property.

The revamped menu is a vast improvement, to my mind, on what it was before.  The restaurant layout is much better too!  No longer housed in the basement, Storm now sits wonderfully on the ground floor of the hotel with tables in the beautiful large bay sash windows for all to see.  From the outside looking in at the candle lit tables it is now much more inviting and entices you in to dine! read more

Dinner Review – The Angel Inn at Hetton – Friday 28 October 2011

31st October 2011

The Angel Inn at Hetton plays as ‘one of the best known and best loved Inns in the Country’.

We started the evening at the busy, welcoming bar with a lovely bottle of Carpene Prosecco Rose (£26) for the ladies, with the men opting for Timothy Taylors! A good decision by the men as it meant more Proseco for the ladies! read more
