Merry Christmas from The Recruitment Room!

Another year over, a new one just beginning ………

As 2018 draws to a close there are so many questions we ask ourselves at the end of each year and beginning of the next.  Did I achieve what I set out to achieve?

The ongoing Brexit negotiations are definitely still having a negative impact of our industry, coupled with so many daily reports of restaurant closures, chef and skill shortages. I think it is fair to say 2018 has been another challenging year with lots of instability still around into next year too.

However, dotted in between these difficult and challenging times we have still enjoyed many successes including meeting so many passionate and talented candidates and been a part of so many highlights for our clients too!

For instance, the exclusive new opening recruitment for Indigo Hotel in Manchester with the key placement of Andrew Green as Executive Chef.  Buon Apps moved to a bigger venue and we helped recruit their Executive Chef and Opening General Manager as part of their on-going expansion plans.  It rounded off a year that saw us working again with our long serving and loyal clients across all sites, Seafood Pub Company, Arc Inspirations, and Provenance Inns. Our local independents too Salvo’s, The Box Tree, Rudding Park, Betty’s, and Blacker Hall to name just a few!

New clients have included The Piece Hall in Halifax, Yakinori, Hurlston Hall, Williams Den, and Broughton Hall to name just a few and we look forward to building on these relationships in the coming year.

So, all in all, it adds up to another successful year and we are excited and nervous (in equal measures!) to see what 2019 has in store for us and our industry.  My goodness 2018 what a year you have been!!

We have a few new and exciting plans and ideas in the pipeline for 2019 here at The Recruitment Room which we will reveal in early 2019 – exciting times we hope so please stay tuned!

All that remains is to wish you all the very best for Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year. Thank you again for everybody’s support throughout 2018 we couldn’t have got through it without you!
